A 5 page Drupal Brochure distribution that was made for a web designer and is/was used by various designers in a multi-site configuration to provide 5 page Drupal enabled brochure websites for their clients.
Provided as a service with maintenance or on their own host with 2nd line support, all the designer had to do is 'design' and if possible theme. Of course Theming services were and are provided.
If you already have a html file from your design, and are using stock drupal, then the info on these pages (Convert any website layout or template into a Drupal theme - easily! and Assigning content to regions) of the theming guide will get you along.
In short, there are the following regions;
Just updated BobbyMods to 6.11, and for the sites that I set up and manage it was an uneventful affair.
I also updated a couple of multi-site installations, and if you didn't hack core and put the themes and modules where they should go (as opposed to where-ever it works) it should be fairly easy.
I just came across some development snapshots made in 2006 on the development of a database driven RV dealership.
Remember this is Drupal 4.74 CCK,Views,Contemplate, one custom module and some tweaking here and there (sometimes with a pipe wrench).
One of the major things was the theme, and because the designer (at that time) had little theming experience (I think not much designers had then, and this was a good one), I did the initial theming.
To disable this block if your site is unusable;
Log on to your mysql drupal database.
Go to the "blocks" table and find the offending block.
Change the "status" field of that block to '0' and clear the cache tables.
You could also remove the code from the corresponding boxes table (bid) or set the block input filter to html instead of php (format filter 1 or 2 in the boxes table).
If your site is broken but you can still log in and make changes;
Log in and disable, delete or modify the block that breaks your site.
I think this was one of my first real interactions with the Drupal Community. It was December 2005.
I need something to track and plan **much needed** changes.
Some developers tend to make their own website the most beautiful, I tend to spend most of my time on "billable hours", so I need to do this like a project, otherwise it will be the same three years from now.
In any event it is also a nice showcase for a basic intra-net setup and the aggregation of messages from sub-systems.
